Verse 1
I wandered alone through the cold and the gloom,
A path veiled in shadow, with whispers of doom.
The winds whispered sorrow, the dark held me tight,
Till high in the heavens, a star lit the endless night.
It wrapped me in silver, a glow soft yet warm,
A shield from the darkness where all hope was gone.
I clung to its light though I felt none inside,
A fire not mine, but a warmth where my fears could hide.
Will you be a star that shines through the night?
A beacon of hope, casting warmth with your light?
Who will you guide when their pathway is dim?
Who will find strength as they rise up within?
Verse 2
At first, I just borrowed its radiance bright,
A shimmer I clung to but not yet my light.
It shone all around me, but never within,
A mask made of brilliance that hid where I’d truly been.
Yet step after step as I walked through the gloom,
My ember grew steady, it needed more room.
No longer just armor, no longer disguise,
The light I once followed now burned deep behind my eyes.
Verse 3
Each day I keep feeding the fire inside,
Its heat growing fiercer, too bright now to hide.
The flames reaching higher, their glow shining white, A beacon now rising, unyielding in its full might.
At last I am certain, the dawn is at hand,
My spirit a sunrise that brightens the land.
The star that once guided now dwells in my core,
I shine for the weary who yearn for hope evermore.
As they rise up within?
